SIP online certificate request system is changing

As we noted in an email last month, the Seafood Inspection Program (SIP) online certificate website is changing. Our goal is to improve your bill paying experience and give you greater statement visibility and payment accessibility.  We anticipate being able to bring you these changes in March 2016 and want to give you an update on what to expect.

This new release of the online certificate website will add a centralized interface for billing that will be integrated into the existing certificate interface. As you can imagine, this is a large change to our system that will require the system to be down for a short time for maintenance.  Once exact dates are known for the outage, we will provide an email update and will also post a message on our website with the exact dates and times.  The outage will be planned at a time when we see the least amount of website activity in order to minimize the impact.

In order to make this transition as smooth as possible for you, we ask that you pay off any outstanding balances quickly and that you pay your February and March bills soon after receiving them.  Please note that we will be unable to provide any SIP services if you have an outstanding balance on your account at the time we deploy the new system in March.  This will require you to pay your bill before the due date listed on the statements you will receive.  Further instructions and dates for the system deployment will be provided via email in February in order to give you as much lead time as possible for the March transition.

We are working diligently to make sure there is very little disruption to the service we provide you. If you have any questions about the system transition and what impact it may have, please contact your local inspection office at the number below:
